The Purpose Behind Every Splash
We teach kids more than swimming — we build water confidence, skills, and safety for life. Every lesson is tailored to help each child
grow stronger, smarter, and braver in the water.
We always start with WHY-
This basic life skill is far too often overlooked in low- and middle-income homes and communities. On a typical summer day, you might see kids enjoying the water at a local park pool — but the question remains: are they truly water safe? Can they respond effectively in a pool, lake, or even a bathtub emergency?
A 2014 CDC study revealed that Black and Brown children die from unintentional drowning at an alarming rate — the second leading cause of death for children ages five to fourteen. In low-income communities, this is linked to the cost of swim lessons, limited access to swim schools, and ongoing fear around water.
Historically, many pools in these neighborhoods were defunded, drained, or shut down after segregation, making water safety a serious afterthought.
Though this report is over ten years old, its findings remain sadly relevant today. Ensuring children have access to quality swim education is more important than ever.

As a proud venture alumni of this program, launched by Goldman Sachs – our startup approached a comprehensive educational endeavor tailored specifically for small businesses seeking to expand their enterprises.
Hope Floats partners with high-quality swim schools to provide scholarships for swimming lessons for children living in poverty.
Scholarships and tuition assistance is provided to children who might not otherwise be able to afford swim lessons.
Dolphin U Swim School partners with the American Red Cross, ensuring our staff maintain nationally recognized certifications in water safety, lifeguarding, and emergency response. This reinforces our commitment to safety, preparedness, and high instructional standards across our programs.
